They see us like that

Here are some amazing self portraits in the style of Picasso.

This week we have studied Cubism and how they created a different impression of the world by overlapping a series of geometric shapes. Here are our initial sketches.

We explored a range of Japanese printed art where subjects included landscapes, waterfalls, flowers, birds and much more.

From the photographs we took in the nature garden we sketched them onto lino blocks and carved the image using a chisel. Ink was applied to the block and paper was pressed on top.

Our visit to Yorkshire Sculpture Park

The Big Picture

People have been making impressions of the world since prehistoric times when we painted animals on the walls of caves. Throughout history, different cultures in different places and times have developed new skills and new ways to express themselves. Now it’s your turn! You are going to paint your impression of the world through art, music, dance, and much more.
