Adults that work in Year 6 during the week are:
Mrs Lancaster and Ms Keating.
Mrs Secker works with us on Tuesdays with Mrs Towler on a Thursday afternoon teaching us Music.

Mission to Mars
Children are making a Mars Rover to explore the surface of Mars, the rover will collect soil samples and take photographs.

Children have created amazing pastel artwork of a nebulae in space. Children looked at different ways to capture the shape, colour and patterns. Stunning final pieces of work by all children.
ENTRY TASK:
Children had to create an accurate scale model of the solar system. The planets needed to be to scale as did the distance between each plant.
Always, Sometimes, Never
Children explored a range of mathematical statements in small groups where they discussed whether they were always true, sometimes true or never true. Children had to share their thoughts and explain with evidence.
World Book Day
Children were asked to create a book review t-shirt based on their favourite book. We had amazing designs with careful detail. So impressive from them all.
Exploring algebra in Maths
Art Week
During Art week we studied two artists who were linked to our continent of Asia. Kandansky who painted using colour and shape to reflect emotions and Hokusai who printed different landscapes.
London 2017
Out of Africa
Charles Darwin set us the challenge of writing his biography. Some of our work has been published on Pobble.com
Entry Task:
We were set the challenge of finding out about DNA and creating a model of the structure of the double helix.
Brainwave
We explored the brain and investigated what the job of each part of the brain did. We then created a factfile teaching others about the brain.

Things to remember:
PE days - Tuesday and Friday. Please, however, ensure that your child has their PE kit in school each day in case this needs to be changed.
Planners - Planners need to be in school every day. Each Monday, children need to hand in their planner which should be signed by an adult for the previous week.
Homework - Children will write any homework which has been set in their planners, as well as the date the work is due to be handed in.
Reading - Children need to read their Accelerated Reader book at home at least three times each week. This should be recorded separately in their Reading Record and signed by an adult each time they read. Reading Record books are checked every Friday.
