December 2020

We have had a lovely December in Nursery.

We have been using our wildlife garden and are getting so much better at getting our puddle suits on and off.

We have been practising writing our names and doing all the gross and fine motor activities that are required for handwriting.

A lot of the children had seen a circus locally so we got our circus kit out and had some excellent performers !!!

We have been measuring in Maths and also doing a lot of pattern making.

November 2020

It was so lovely to welcome everyone back to Nursery today. We talked about what we have all done over half term......lots of Halloween adventures, seaside trips and visits to Grandmas.

The document above shows what we intend to teach this half term. It is subject to change as we observe the children’s interests and fascinations and then incorporate them into our provision.

Here’s to another half term with your lovely children. They are a really good class. Lots of fun to be had.

When we wrote our class mission statement we talked about what we wanted Nursery to look like.  Rainbows was the most popular choice so we have been making rainbows everywhere since!

Look at the concentration required to safely use the hammers. We really enjoyed banging the nails in and creating wooden models.

It seems we have a troupe of very good actors in Nursery. We have been acting out some of our favourite stories and taking on lots of the roles.

We have learnt lots of actions to The Gingerbread Man and have also learnt the story of Squirrels Busy Day.

October 2020

We have been enjoying the windy weather and practising our handwriting skills using the ribbons to make big anti clockwise circles in the air.

Monday  September 21st 2020

It has been so lovely to see everyone back in Nursery today.

We have been amazed at all our new children who are settling so well. They just walk straight in and make themselves busy.

I am hoping we haven't scared anyone today !!!but we have used a virtual reality app to film a dinosaur walking around our Nursery playground.

The children found it fascinating and have been on a brachiosaurus hunt ever since.

We have also had a fire practise this afternoon. If the children start to say that if we play a musical sound in school every one has to come inside to keep safe and that if there is a loud bell we have to all go outside and up on the field...…..they are right!!!

 Dear Parents.

We have had a lovely day today with the children who had already started Nursery. It has been great to see how happy and excited they have been to get back to school.

We are also looking forward to working with all the new children and their families as they start over the next couple of weeks.

 Just some reminders:

Nursery times have changed. Full days are 9.10- 3.10 pm now.

We will meet the children at the gate and bring them back to you at the gate at the end of the session.

Beginning of the week children are still able to come at 8.30am - 11.30 am on Wednesdays.

End of the week children are still 12.30 - 3.30 pm on Wednesdays.

We are trying to cut down on what they bring from home so any bags need to be left at school. We have told all our new starters that we will use Nursery clothes if we need to change anyone.

They can still bring a toothbrush and toothpaste to be left at school ....all named of course!!!!!

They can bring a water bottle daily and will take it home again on a daily basis.

It will be very useful to have a pair of wellies left at school too. We will let you know if and when we need waterproof suits.

At the moment we will not be doing library or home bags ...but hope to resume this when we can.

We have limited equipment out for the children and are washing and cleaning as we go and at the ends of sessions.

Once we have your emails on our system we will send you a weekly observation of your child. If you would like any further updates on your child please ring or email and I will try to get back to you after school.

However we are having a parents evening at the end of September .....not sure of the format for that yet ...but we will be able to have a catch up then.
