The Stephen Lawrence Education Standard

On 22nd November 2006 Hill Top Primary School was one of the 17 schools in the Morley Family who joined forces to tackle racism and inequality. We signed a statement declaring a commitment to promote and champion equality in our school.

The Stephen Lawrence Education Standard (SLES) is a scheme that acknowledges schools who promote race equality through all aspects of school life. As a school we are working to submit evidence towards this standard.

Year 11 GCSE Drama students from Woodkirk High School came to perform their own dramatisation about the life of Stephen Lawrence. They performed it to our Key Stage 2 children. It was very moving and thought provoking.

The presentation was introduced to the children.

The Drama unfolds.

We took part in Fairtrade Fortnight by selling a selection of Fairtrade goods at Parent's Evening. In just one night we sold £45 worth of goods.

Max in Year 6 took part in an inter schools football festival to promote awareness of the Stephen Lawrence Standard.
